Stranded in Wet Paradise

We are still in Prague, stranded by uncooperative  weather (10 degrees, RAIN, lots of it). A state of emergency for flooding has just been declared for Prague with a possibility of some evacuations along the river, adjacent to the route we were supposed to take.

This is déjà vu for us, from our cycling trip two years ago when the Champlain and Richelieu rivers were subject to a state of emergency because of flooding. Of course we are safe, cozy and surprised. Even though it has been raining since we got here Wednesday, it doesn't feel as bad as we are told. On Tuesday we will put our bikes on the train and make our way to Berlin, skipping the first half of the planned cycling trip. We'll be there a week, hopefully the weather will be better and then we can cycle the second half of the trip, to Copenhagen.

On a more positive note we are taking advantage of our time here to discover other neighbourhoods and more architectural beauty. Prague is truly magnificent.
